Purpose
This guide explains how eF Virtual Drift Competition allocates competition revenue. The objective is to operate with transparency, maintain a sustainable championship and reinvest registration fees into the competition, staff and long-term community growth.
All EFVD financial amounts—including fees, payments, deposits, refunds, compensation and cash prizes—are in Canadian dollars (CAD).
EFVD operates community-based contests of virtual motorsport skill. Competition results and prizes are determined through published qualifying, tandem-battle, technical and conduct criteria, not through random draw or chance-based prize allocation.
This guide applies to standard EFVD competitions unless EFVD communicates a different event-specific model through official channels.

Clear allocation
Drivers, partners and the community should understand how competition revenue supports the championship.
Competitors and staff
Revenue should support both competitors and the staff who make each event possible.
Long-term operation
EFVD reserves a portion of revenue so events, infrastructure and media quality can keep improving.
Event-specific changes
EFVD may adapt this model when needed and communicate material changes before they take effect.

Revenue Sources
EFVD may receive revenue from several sources. Only standard driver registration fees automatically follow the allocation model in this guide unless EFVD says otherwise.

Registration Fee Allocation
Unless EFVD communicates a different model before registration opens, paid driver registration fees are allocated using the standard model below. The separate processing fee is excluded from registration revenue and from this allocation.

Illustrative example: 60 paid registrations at $5 CAD each produce $300 CAD in registration revenue. At the standard rate, the same checkouts also collect $90 CAD in processing fees, which is excluded from the allocation below.

The examples below are illustrative only. Actual payouts, staffing costs and operational needs can vary by event.

Prize Structure
Prize pools are determined by EFVD and communicated through official EFVD channels when confirmed. Unless EFVD says otherwise, event podium payouts are funded through the Event Payout Fund.
Cash prizes are paid in CAD through PayPal only. A PayPal email is optional when applying or completing a driver profile. A winner must give EFVD a PayPal email linked to an account that can receive CAD within 14 calendar days after the event finishes. Missing this deadline or failing to provide an eligible account forfeits the prize. EFVD does not offer alternate payout methods.
EFVD will confirm the receiving details with the winner. EFVD will then issue the prize within 14 calendar days. This separate issuance period begins on the date EFVD sends that confirmation.
PayPal processing, holds or account reviews after EFVD issues the payment are outside EFVD's issuance period. An external PayPal delay alone does not forfeit the prize.
EFVD sends the advertised amount in CAD. The winner is responsible for recipient-side fees, currency conversion, withdrawal charges and taxes.
Special events, sponsored events, promotional events or non-standard formats may use an alternative prize structure. Event-specific prize eligibility, prize amounts and sponsor terms control when posted. Cash prizes remain payable in CAD through PayPal only.

Staff Compensation
The Staff Fund recognizes the time and effort required to organize and deliver EFVD competitions.

The Operations and Growth Fund supports the continued development of EFVD and DriftComp.
Servers and website
Server hosting, website infrastructure and Cloudflare-related operations.
DriftComp development
Tools, bot workflows, registration systems and competition software.
Advertising and media
Advertising, promotion, graphics and broadcast production.
Event quality
Hardware, software or services needed to improve event delivery.
Emergency fund
Unused funds may carry forward into future events or long-term development projects.
Growth work
Other approved projects that support the championship and community.

Sponsorship and External Revenue
Sponsorships, partnerships, donations, merchandise sales and other external revenue are independent of the Registration Fee Allocation Model unless EFVD specifically assigns them to that model.
EFVD may allocate external revenue where it provides the greatest benefit to the championship, including prize pools, staff compensation, championship development, advertising, infrastructure, software development, equipment, community initiatives and long-term growth.
Some sponsorship agreements may designate funds for a specific purpose. Partner inquiries should use the Partners page or official EFVD contact process.

Registration Fees
Registration fees may vary between events depending on event format, operating costs, prize pools, partnerships, promotional events and other relevant considerations.
The registration fee pays for event administration and services, including technical inspection, staffing, servers, production, prize administration and community operations. It is not a bet or wager, and EFVD does not accept or facilitate betting on its events.
The standard entry checkout is $6.50 CAD: a $5 CAD registration fee plus a separate $1.50 CAD processing fee. The processing fee helps offset external payment costs associated with Stripe payment collection and refunds, as well as PayPal prize payouts. It is not part of registration revenue allocated under the standard model.
The processing fee is non-refundable once payment is completed. The registration fee for each event will be communicated in CAD before registration opens. Refund and withdrawal expectations are handled in the Refund & Withdrawal Guide.

Technical Inspection Services
Each confirmed event registration includes one Final Tech submission at no additional cost. Final Tech occurs before entry payment and approves the exact submitted car version.

EFVD handles a required Revision fee shown in the inspector's decision. Payments for Optional Pre-Check, consultation or repair are private CAD agreements between the driver and inspector; EFVD does not collect or manage those payments.
Drivers are never required to buy optional inspector services. If a car does not pass Final Tech, the driver can follow the decision and submit an allowed Revision. The driver can instead withdraw without buying optional services and independently correct the car before a future event, subject to the Refund & Withdrawal Guide. Vehicle standards are controlled by the Technical Regulations.

Policy Changes
Last updated: August 12, 2026. This guide remains effective until EFVD changes it; it does not expire at the end of a season. Staff announce material rule changes through the official EFVD Discord.
